UT Health Houston employee reports sexual harassment

by Administrator 6. September 2011 07:34

Last month, a lawsuit was filed against UT Health Houston by a former employee.  In the lawsuit, the employee says that she was subjected to sexual harassment from a coworker and was terminated after reporting the unlawful behavior.

In addition to accusing the woman's employer of sexual harassment retaliation, the lawsuit accuses UT Health Houston of inflicting emotional distress.  The coworker who was harassing the plaintiff is also named as a defendant in the employment lawsuit.

According to the suit, the woman was subjected to inappropriate touching and unwated sexual advances while working for UT Health Houston.  After telling her manager, the woman's hours were cut and she was given impossible assignments.  Later, the employee told a UT Health employee about the harassment and she was escorted from her work by police and terminated.
