Gender discrimination lawsuit filed against Wal-Mart in Dallas

by Administrator 2. November 2011 06:52

A gender discrimination lawsuit was recently filed in Dallas on behalf of former and current, female Wal-Mart Stores Inc. employees.  The case could potentially involve around 45,000 female Wal-Mart and Sam's Club store employees.

The lawsuit was filed by one Sam's Club employee after a nationwide, class-action lawsuit filed against Wal-Mart was dismissed a few months ago.  The national lawsuit was dismissed because it was deemed too large.  The lawsuit filed in Dallas will only include female employees in Texas.

According to the lawsuit, Wal-Mart does not pay or promote female employees as much as male employees in the same positions.
