Employees say Bass Pro discriminates against minorities

by Administrator 26. September 2011 08:08

Employees at Bass Pro shops in Texas and Louisianna reported to the Equal Empoyment Opportunity Commission that the company discriminates against minorities and retaliates against employees who complain about their practices.

According to a racial discrimination lawsuit filed against Bass Pro, managers with the company purposefully do not hire African American or Hispanic people applying for positions as cashiers, sales associates, and managers.  In addition, the company is accused of destroying records concerning hiring and discrimination.

Bass Pro employees also say that managers and supervisors at their stores frequently use derogatory terms to refer to minorities.  The lawsuit seeks compensation for both employees and applicants subjected to the discrimination and retaliation.

If you or someone you know has been subjected to racial discrimination during hiring or in the workplace, contact the Houston racial discrimination lawyers of Ross Law Group at 800-634-8042 to speak with one of our experienced employment attorneys today.
