EEOC files national origin discrimination suit against oil rig company

by Administrator 16. May 2011 02:19

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently filed suit against an oil rig construction company operating in Mississippi and Texas for subjecting around 500 immigrant employees to national origin discrimination and retaliation.  The workers were recruited from India to do work as pipe fitters and welders.

The construction company, Signal International LLC, is also accused of racial discrimination.  According to the lawsuit, the workers were forced to live in oppressive and unsanitary conditions and subjected to abusive language and discrimination.  Furthermore, many workers who reported the discrimination were retaliated against by their employer.

If you or someone you know has been discriminated against in the workplace based on their national origin, contact the Houston national origin discrimination attorneys of Ross Law Group at 713-482-6910 and set up an appointment to meet with one of our experienced employment lawyers today.
