DFW airport cab drivers sue for discrimination

by Administrator 22. September 2010 04:03

According to the Fort Worth Star Telegram, earlier this week 250 taxi cab drivers working for the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport filed a federal workplace discrimination lawsuit against their employer.

Complaints to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission included managers referring to the cab drivers as animals and calling the cab queue "The Central Zoo".  In addition, drivers allege that managers placed portable toilets in an area used for prayer while waiting in line.  Cab drivers who questioned managers were suspended from their positions.

Driver Mirza Sajid stated, "They are treating us like we are second-class citizens in this country".
