First Street Surgical Center, LP and First Surgical Partners, LLC have agreed to pay $290,000 in a sexual harassment case filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
According to the EEOC, the surgical center created a sexually hostile work environment and a male nurse in a supervisory position made unwanted sexual advances against his female counterparts. The company was also accused of retaliating against women who brought up the issue of harassment.
The three women who filed charges with the EEOC will recieve $210,000 in compensation. The other $80,000 will be distributed to the other victims in the workplace.
